WP8 – SYNTHESIS AND CAPITALISATION

By implementing stakeholder activities on local/regional level and synthesizing the knowledge of all activities and pilot actions carried out in the other WPs, this WP aims at supporting political and local stakeholders to balance sediment management and support River Basin Management Plans on local/regional and national level.

Actions

• Implementing stakeholder participation in pilot regions aiming at balancing sediment management;
• Development of integrated sediment management strategy including technical, economical and ecological issues;
• Implementation and post-analysis of proposed sediment management options (pilot regions);
• Formulating policy recommendations based on the synthesis of overall project findings, with particular focus on transferable and transnational relevant results.

Expected outputs

• Technical monograph on sustainable sediment management in Alpine rivers.
• Policy recommendations on sediment management to support River Basin Management Plans.
• Recommendations on good governance on sediment-related issues across the Alpine Space.
• Overall assembly of results gathered in WP4-7 as synthesis, including recommendations for sediment management, providing a reliable decision basis for policy-makers. Also refering to guidelines for experts concerning best practice approaches (cf.WP4-7) and including the experiences made in all pilot regions of the project.
